South Africa supplies 98% of the world demand for crocodile oil. The sole producer is Repcillin, which supplies pharmacies worldwide with oils, balms soaps all manufactured from crocodile oil.

CITES

The Nile crocodile is no longer an endangered species due to the success of the CITES program and they are now a protected species. The supply of crocodile products and derivatives is licensed and controlled according to the regulations set out the international CITES convention. Strict adherence to these regulations is observed and ensures the quality standard for Nile crocodile products. At the same time, the quality of farming conditions for the crocodile is also regulated ensuring organic and free range conditions and articipating crocodile farms are inspected by CITES personnel on an ongoing basis.

Recently BBC News reporting that the serum from crocodile blood had killed the MRSA superbug in labratory conditions.Crocodile oil has been used for centuries for the healing of many skin ailments and for nourishment. It is easily absorbed into the skin and users have reported many success stories ranging from eczema to solar keratosis being healed.

Crocodile oil is extracted from the fatty tissues of crocodiles and has been used both as preventative and a treatment for a number of human ailments and conditions for many years and across numerous cultures, including Ancient Egypt.[1] It is somewhat red in color, and less viscous than alligator oil. Both were used in the tanning industry.[2]
